Dry flowers are beautiful, stylish, popular and hugely sustainable... do you need any more reasons?
Dry flowers are becoming popular again for various reasons. I say 'again' because dried flowers were very popular in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Fresh flowers are very nice, but after no more than a week they often look sad. I find that a real shame, but it can also get quite expensive when you have to buy new flowers every week. This is exactly why I think dried flowers are so ideal... they are real (colourful) flowers only they can be kept for months! Read below why dried flowers should not be missing in your home either!
Sustainable dried flowers
That terrible moment when you have to put your beautiful bouquet of flowers into the green container. You had a week to enjoy the beautiful flowers, but at some point it's done. You won't experience that same moment so soon with dried flowers. You can leave these flowers for at least six months or more. Dry flowers are extremely durable because they last so long.
(dried) flowers make you happy
It is scientifically proven that flowers make people happy. We're not just talking about the moment of getting flowers, but also in the long run, they make you feel good. How does that work? Well, having greenery (flowers) in your home works calming, stress-reducing and gives you a huge boost in cheerfulness. Besides, flowers would also be a good investment in a relationship, according to researchers, regardless of whether it is a friendship, family or love relationship.
Cheaper than fresh flowers
When you go to buy dried flowers, you will find that these flowers are slightly more expensive than fresh flowers. However, when you do the maths, you will quickly find out that dried flowers are cheaper in the long run. A bouquet of flowers from the supermarket often costs around €12. If this bouquet, counting generously, would stay for a fortnight and you buy a new one every fortnight, you would spend €325 a year. For a medium-sized dried bouquet, you pay between €40-€60. Even if you were to buy a fresh bouquet of flowers for €6, you would end up cheaper with a dried bouquet.
Green fingers? What are they?
Do plants always die with you because you totally forget about them? Not to worry... as long as you don't constantly move the dried flowers, you can't go wrong. Dry flowers need 0.0% care: they don't even need water!
Is there dust on your dried flowers because they have been standing for a long time? Then use your hairdryer on the softest and coldest setting and keep it at an appropriate distance from the dried flowers. Blow dry briefly and all the dust will disappear.

Dry flowers can be just about anywhere in the house
Dry flowers do not get happy from too much sunlight or moisture, so it is better to keep them away from these two factors. If you do place the dried flowers in direct, bright sunlight, the colours may fade. This doesn't happen overnight, you can still enjoy the dried flowers for a long time if you want them on your windowsill.
Your favourite flower all year round
You can buy dried flowers all year round, so you are not tied to a season. Your favourite bouquet of flowers is available all year round.

You give more than a simple bouquet of flowers, because you know that a dried bouquet will last much longer. You'll spend more energy and attention picking out a nice bouquet that suits someone's home.
