With fresh flowers, hay fever can indeed occur frequently. However, this is not the case with dried flowers. How can this be? We are happy to explain it to you in our informative blog.
Dry flowers are a real trend at the moment and (almost) everyone wants to have such a beautiful dried bouquet in their home. This is not surprising, of course, as dried flowers are available in practically every colour, shape and size. This allows you to put together the perfect dried bouquet to suit your home. But what about possible allergies, such as hay fever? We explain that here.
Dry flowers and fragrances
Like all flowers, dried flowers also possess scent. Most customers who come to us to pick up flowers find them smelling fantastic. At our warehouse, you naturally smell it tremendously, as we have many different varieties in various numbers. But most dried bouquets an sich also smell, but some more than others. Some you don't smell at all. We incorporate flowers in many of our bouquets that smell nice, like lavender, for example. This may be why your dried bouquet smells so good.
Should your dried bouquet still not smell good, there are two tricks for that:
- Carefully spray the dried bouquet with hairspray: this will reduce/remove the smell and the dried bouquet will catch less dust.
- Carefully spray the dried bouquet with flower spray: this spray gives off an amazing scent and also ensures that the bouquet will catch less to no dust.
Dry flowers and hay fever
Although we don't often get this question, we would like to answer it: can you get hay fever from dried flowers? The short answer is 'no'. Because the flowers nolonger release pollen, as they are completely dried up, you won't get hay fever from dried flowers. So if you have hay fever, you can still enjoy a beautiful, colourful dried bouquet.
