Sowing instruction: These are the most ideal straw flowers. The seed produces paper-like flowers in a rich variety of colours. They dry well, store indefinitely - while retaining their colour - and are very easy to grow. Height: 90 cm.
Sow: between April and June in the garden, directly in a place where they can remain. Dampen the sowing soil, scatter the seed generously, cover with ½ cm of soil and press lightly. After emergence, thin out plants that are too close together. Plants that remain will grow best if they are 20 cm apart.
Flowering: from July to October.
Drying: cut off the flower stems when the buds are half open. Tie the stems together and hang the bunches upside down in a dark, dry place. While drying, the flowers open
open further.
