Sowing instructions: Ice flowers are real sun worshippers. The flowers only open when there is sunshine. A beautiful sight, such a bed of low ice flowers (10 cm high). Ice' in its name comes from the frozen appearance of its fleshy stems and leaves.
Sow: in March-April under glass or in a seedbed indoors. From mid-April to the end of May sow directly outdoors in the garden. Sow widely or in rows (borders) in moist sowing soil. Cover the seed with 1/4 cm of soil. Lightly press the soil after sowing. After emergence prick out (spread the plants wider or transfer to separate pots). In May, transplant definitively at 20 x 20 cm spacing or - if you have not pricked out - thin out (remove the excess plants) until the perennials are also at 20 x 20 cm spacing. Removing spent flowers extends the flowering period.
Flowering: from mid-June to September.
